This production will be the second time that ExitLeft Productions have staged the global sensation that is Les Misérables.

The first production was a landmark production at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in 2000 that broke box office records. Featuring a cast of 97, a 220 voice choir and large orchestra it was the first time a Tasmanian company had ever staged an arena style spectacular at a 5000 seat venue in the state. Other firsts included a 60 metre set forming a bridge over the river Seine and a team of French soldiers supplied by the Historical Arms and Military Society of Tasmania providing live fire.

The show featured David Lee as Jean Valjean, Colin Dean as Javert, Sharon Prero as Fantine, Glenn Braithwaite as Thénardier, Betty Davidson as Madame Thénardier, Allison Farrow as Cosette, Andrew Short as Marius, Justin Wigg as Enjolras, Michelle Williams as Eponine, Arabella Wain as Little Cosette, Ben Paine as Gavroche and Ken Short as the Bishop of Digne.
