More than 40 children put their names in the hat to audition for one of three child roles in the upcoming ExitLeft production of Les Misérables in Tasmania. With the first auditions taking place on Sunday 16 September at ExitLeft’s Hobart studio there was nerves, excitement and some fabulous singing. “The child roles in the show are very important” says Artistic director Ian Williams. “Through their stories they have become a symbol of the struggle between the rich and poor”. With the iconic songs ‘Castle on a Cloud’ and ‘Little People’ they are sure to tear at the heartstrings when Les Mis hits the stage in January.
The three child roles will be cast with more than one child to ensure that the season is a manageable length for them.
