A HOBART performer Dreamed a Dream that came true when she was chosen to form part of Tasmania’s stage production for the iconic Les Misérables.
Eloise Martyn, 26, who is playing the role of Fantine, was one of 30 cast members who begun rehearsals Sunday ahead of the show’s performance dates beginning early next year.
Ms Martyn, who currently lives in Melbourne, said she can’t wait to step on stage to perform in one of the world’s best-known musicals.

“It’s an absolute dream, and I’m so thrilled to be back in my home town playing it. It’s a once in a lifetime role and production,” the former Mount Carmel student said.
The production will be overseen by leading Australian theatre director Chris Parker, whose staging of Les Misérables for the Geelong Performing Arts Centre won awards for Best Production and Best Direction.
“I’m really excited to bring this show to Hobart and I love the space here for our cast to rehearse in,” Mr Parker said.
Mr Parker said Ms Martyn was a perfect fit for the role of Fantine.
“Eloise blew us away in the audition room. She has an innate strength in the way she performs that allows us to get on board to feel what she’s portraying.”
The shows by ExitLeft Productions will run from January 11 to February 3, 2019 at the Playhouse Theatre. Tickets can be purchased at www.lesmistas.com or by visiting the Theatre Royal Box Office (phone 6146 3300) located at TMAG.
